VVVS: Vishwa Ved Vigyan Sammelan (World Congress of Vedic Sciences)

"It is widely believed that the insights of future development are rooted in the Vedic perspective (Indian Knowledge System) that sees the whole world as one family and in fact enunciates oneness of the whole universe."

Today, in spite of tremendous strides in science and technology as well as economic development, the world is facing enormous environmental, ecological and ethical challenges that are threatening the very survival of humankind. Some thought leaders and distinguished scientists have gone to the extent of stating that this will be the last century for humanity unless we shift our concept and paradigm of development and progress. There is an urgent need to change our world view through the harmony of man, machine and nature.

It is widely believed that the insights of future development are rooted in the Vedic perspective (Indian Knowledge System) that sees the whole world as one family and in fact enunciates oneness of the whole universe.

In this context, Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) has taken a major initiative in organizing the World Congress of Vedic Sciences - Vishwa Ved Vigyan Sammelan, since 2004.

The first World Congress of the Vedic and allied sciences was organized by the Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhan Samsthana (S-VYASA) in Bangalore in August 2004.

The second Congress of Vedic Sciences was organized in collaboration with Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi in February 2007.

The third sammelan was organised with the Deccan College Deemed University from 10 - 13 January 2018 in Pune. The focal theme of Tritiya Vishwa Ved Vigyan Sammelan and Expo was Vedic and Modern Sciences: Insights, Interfaces and Integration.
